Lemon Drizzle Cake Recipe!

Hello Everyone!

Today i baked a cake and it was really fast and easy to make. so thought i could do a post for some simple updates!

Lets get started!

First, the ingredients that you will need is:

3 Large Eggs

2 Lemons

1 Tsp of Baking Powder

170g of Butter (Unsalted)

170g of Castor Sugar

170g of Self Raising Flour

110g of Icing Sugar

Pre-heat your oven in a 180 Celsius!

Method:

• Zest the whole 2 lemons 
• Add in the measured butter, castor sugar, self raising flour and 3 large eggs along with the lemon zest

• Using a mixer, mix with a low speed until you get a nice smooth batter! 
• Meanwhile, you can line your baking tin with butter or just use a non-stick tin
• After that you may pour that batter into your pan and put it in the oven!
• Same temperature for 40 - 45 minutes
• Make sure to check in on the cake now and then and use a skewer to poke through the cake
• If it is clean it means its all cooked, if not continue baking. 

• Meanwhile, you can start making your drizzle
• Using the 2 lemons that you zest-ed from, cut in halves and squeeze the juice out, u can use a sift to catch all the seeds from falling into the juice
• Add that 110g of Icing sugar into the juice and use a spoon to stir it all together until it is smooth. as per the photo above.
• It is suppose to be thick and gooey! 

• After your cake is cooked you can now take it out of the oven, poke holes through the cake, this is so that when you pour in the drizzle it seeps into the cake and makes it nice and moist!
• Let the cake cool completely before you remove it out of the pan, and after that you may drizzle the lemon juice all over your cake, wait for about half an hour before you cut the cake to serve.

There you have it! You can also use other fruits like lime or orange or even grapefruit! i did an orange drizzle cake, it was so nice! but make sure your orange is sour, mine was too sweet .

No its not racism whatsoever!

P/s: I have no explanation for the poop nor the pig. it just looked cute.... and i needed something to fill in the empty spots.... Don't judge me! 

i dye-ed it back to black mostly because i've been missing my natural black hair, and my hair grew quite a lot after i dyed my previous hair colour, and u can obviously see 2 tones of black from the roots and red-ish brown downwards. Its not really nice anymore. 

IF you're actually wondering what colour was my previous one, it was suppose to be a really dark violet colour. i wished i had found the picture i took. but its somehow missing. hmm... but after the colour faded away it gives this red-ish brown colour which is very pretty too! Its been ages since i had black hair, i think im going to keep it like this for a very long time! And i think i've never looked better! =p BTW the black hair dye i used are all natural herbs so its not so damaging to my hair. She deserves lots of rest after so many years of torturing. hahaha!  

And putting aside this "Oh-look-at-my-hair" issue, my birthday is coming! and im really excited since i know my sis IS planning to take me somewhere. Its funny that when i was young, i always expect something for my birthday. like it is COMPULSORY for my friends and family to buy me something. and i usually dont get much, but nevertheless i was still happy. but this year, i dont really expect a lot, in fact i dont think i expected anything at all since i wanted a normal everyday dinner.. LOL! and it turns out that my mom and sis just planned to bring me out even when i said its okay if i dont celebrate it. mainly because i dont even know what i want. i am content with what i have now =D

It is this coming Monday. and i will be sure to take loads of pictures and post it on my blog since i have abandoned it for so long, and its getting really boring with just my pointless thoughts... kekeke!

Touched!

Sis took a 1 day leave on my birthday to celebrate with me. I'm honestly very touched, i know she loves me a lot! kekeke!

but when she asked, where would i want to go, on that day, i really couldn't think of anywhere because mainly i didnt think i would celebrate much. And mom is bringing me to a Korean - Japanese buffet! i feel super touched and blessed!

Thank God for Family! Now they have made me looking forward to my birthday! Thanks my Darlings! Xx!

On A Happier Note......

I know that most of my post about my thoughts aren't exactly uplifting these days, but i am happy that it is April now.. =)

Because it is my Birthday Month! even though turning 24 makes me 1 year older, and its true what people say, when you are in your 20s, you'd find time flies by faster. but its still okay with me, the old jokes dont affect me in any way =)

Though i know i wont have presents or even a cake, im fine with it, i'd rather just be with my family and close friends. and turning 1 year older makes me value a lot of things, and i genuinely prefer company than presents. because i would feel it is a waste of money for someone to buy me a present, which either i dont quite like it, or worse, don't need it.

So yea, i did think of how i wanted my Birthday to be spent when it comes, just a simple everyday dinner at home with the family, and maybe watch some of the videos of youtubers / movies that i've downloaded but havent watched on my lappy would be absolutely satisfying. Even though i do love cakes, but no cake, is still good =) because im trying to cut down on sweet stuff, which i starting to not like so much.

and i've really, realized how much i've changed, i used to spend a lot and always wanting to go out, eat really good food. and buy the stuffs that i dont use often, and thinking that its a must have.

Now i do enjoy shopping once in a while, buying shoes or clothes, and my favorite kind of shopping, (grocery shopping) but everytime when i wanted to buy something even though some of it my mom is going to pay for it, i would always think do i really need it. and end up putting it back to the shelf.

Maybe some of you shopaholics may think, yea, wait until you walk in a shop that has cheap sales. well, i did, last 2 weeks, Kitschen had a buy 1 free 1 sale in 1 Utama, i have to admit i was pretty excited, and there are a lot of clothes i wished to buy after i've tried it on, but i walked out of the shop empty handed. i have to say, im pretty proud of myself. *pats myself on the back*

im still learning, i know all the while money isnt easy to earn, and that it is not everything, so im still learning to have self control to not over-spend and to value the money that not only i myself earned but my family and friends earned.
